Maggie May's, a city centre bar located on Trippet Lane, is looking to stay open later during the week after submitting a licensing application to Sheffield City Council. Under the proposals put forward to the council's licensing committee, the pub hopes to extend its operating hours until 2:30am from Sunday through to Thursday.
According to a public notice released on 24th September, the request seeks to extend licensable hours across those five nights to 2:30am, covering both recorded and amplified music. The notice also confirms that alcohol served during these later hours would be for consumption on the premises.
Members of the public and other interested parties were given the opportunity to submit their views or make representations regarding the proposed schedule directly to Sheffield City Council. That formal public consultation period on the application concluded on 30th September, with the local authority's licensing committee set to review the matter.
Maggie May's on Trippet Lane in Sheffield city centre is holding 2 live music nights in December.
On Saturday 17th December a Rolling Stones tribute act will play, and on Christmas Eve a Michael Buble tribute will be on stage.
