A typical Wetherspoon's I suppose - cheap food and drink, and all that goes with it. The food is exactly what you'd expect, but the steak night is incredible value.

The beers are regularly changed but not the best kept in the world, and on a weekend eye candy bar staff pull you an indifferent pint with more head than The Mekon. They do, however, top it up without too much fuss. Noisy youngsters and crowds getting half cut before heading "into town" can be annoying when trying to find a seat, but I've never witnessed any trouble there. Perhaps the police station directly across the road acts a suitable deterrent.

    A good pub overall.

Just wanted to say "thank you" for a fantastic Christmas lunch!

Staff worked extremely hard and were as helpful as ever! A great job well done (very good value also).

    Thanks again!

This is a great pub for cheap beer and cheap food. There are a large variety of different beers at low prices and the food is good for the price. It is spacious inside but often gets full at the weekends, as a lot of the younger end of the market go in for a cheap drink before heading into the town centre. Don't let that put you off though, just go in about 9PM and there will be fewer people.

The only problem with this pub is the smokers standing in the doorways smoking. You have to brave a thick wall of smoke and squeeze past the bodies to enter and exit the pub. Not one for the kids!

A great selection of local beers, very good w/c (sad I know but you have to look at both ends) Good food nights! But the Friday / Saturday night female bar staff - WOW!
