News for Lock Inn:
A new bar has opened at Victoria Quays in Sheffield city centre, bringing fresh activity to one of the area's most distinctive spaces.
The Lock Inn has launched in Arch 17 at Victoria Quays, a historic canalside spot known for its brick arches and tucked-away feel. The venue promises "bold arches, warm lighting and cosy seating," aiming to create a relaxed place for people to unwind by the water.
The bar occupies the former home of grassroots music venue Dorothy Pax, which closed in March. That space has now been transformed into a pub setting, while keeping the character of the arch that has long made it a quirky destination.
The Lock Inn is a sister pub to The Dark Horse micropub on Ecclesall Road and is owned by Andy Grice. Writing on Facebook, Grice described Victoria Quays as the perfect place to relax beside the canal.
He said the opening followed months of work behind the scenes. "After months of graft, design tweaks, late nights and countless coffees... our bar is complete - and we couldn't be prouder," he wrote. He added that every detail, from the lighting to the seating and polished bar, had been carefully designed to give people a place to relax, drink well and enjoy good company.
Grice also thanked the trades, suppliers, staff and friends who helped bring the project together, ending his post with a simple message: "Now it's time to fill it with people. Open and ready to welcome you."
