Such a brilliant bar, and so different to the others which surround it on West Street.
I absolutely love the cocktails, they are so delicious. Me and my friends love coming to The Wick on the weekends because the cocktails are great, there's a really fun atmosphere and a friendly crowd. One of the main things is that its not the sort of place where men constantly letch on you - which can be a problem in other bars. We can get dressed up and have some lovely drinks without being pestered and sleazed on the whole time. Saying that, the men there are worth pulling so it's usually us doing the letching after one too many cocktails!
My friend goes for dinner with her boyfriend at the Wick and is always banging on about how good it is, but I haven't tried it yet myself, as they stop serving food at 9PM.
All in all great bar, definitely try the Seven Hills and the Sloe Down Dear!
We have been going to the Old Horns at Bradfield for some time. The food is great and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. It is such a lovely atmosphere with great scenery. I would recommend it to anyone, carry on the good work John, Cassie and all your fantastic staff.
What a great pub. Their burgers are fantastic, and they have £2 drinks until Midnight. Definitely a younger crowd in the evening, what with being so close to the university and being situated at the top of West Street, but during the day I find it very pleasant.
Decor is lovely now that it's been refurbished. Very warn and welcoming. Staff were lovely and the food menu is great. Really cheap but good portions and good quality. We had the Yorkshire wrap. Drinks good value, too. Fantastic. Going again tonight!
It's never changed for years, same decor. Nice and cosy and friendly. It has been a rockers' pub since the days of the Wapentake Bar at least. It has a brilliant juke box and fab DJs who play proper original Heavy Metal, i.e. Judas Priest, Led Zepplin etc...
A lot of outer-towners seem to gravitate to it as well, like groups of Germans, Swedes and that.
When there's gigs on at the City Hall, just 200 yards away, you get the audience people dropping in, especially if there's a rock artist on.
