Drank, ate and spent the night in their accommodation. We found the whole experience generally good. The selection of ales was splendid, the "ribeye" steaks were done just how we liked them and the meals were delivered promptly and hot. The bar area was busy but you were not kept waiting to get served.
The accommodation is clean but somewhat Spartan (no hanging space, and no shelf in the bathroom).
We thought £40 per night per person was a little dear, as no breakfast is included.
Me and my son called there for dinner on our way from Oldham to watch a football match at Chesterfield. Had two Dambusters which were huge steak and ale pies with home-made chip wedges and vegetables. That and two pints of Coke cost only £13.50.
Best grub we have had for ages and will be going again when we play at Sheffield.
Fantastic diamond of a pub. Brilliant quality food, very reasonably priced in comparison to any other restaurant I've been to with same quality food. Excellent service, from our lovely female waitress.
Did I mention their real ale choice? Just excellent really well-kept ales, all perfectly served, crystal clear! Bar staff are really informative and know their products. Credit to all the staff there!
Been several times and have never been disappointed. By far the best real ale pub and restaurant in Sheffield.
We go in the Benjamin Huntsman most Saturday nights but don't know why because the staff just do not seemed to be bothered in serving. They'd just rather talk amongst themselves. Avoid if you want serving quick.
Such a brilliant bar, and so different to the others which surround it on West Street.
I absolutely love the cocktails, they are so delicious. Me and my friends love coming to The Wick on the weekends because the cocktails are great, there's a really fun atmosphere and a friendly crowd. One of the main things is that its not the sort of place where men constantly letch on you - which can be a problem in other bars. We can get dressed up and have some lovely drinks without being pestered and sleazed on the whole time. Saying that, the men there are worth pulling so it's usually us doing the letching after one too many cocktails!
My friend goes for dinner with her boyfriend at the Wick and is always banging on about how good it is, but I haven't tried it yet myself, as they stop serving food at 9PM.
All in all great bar, definitely try the Seven Hills and the Sloe Down Dear!
We have been going to the Old Horns at Bradfield for some time. The food is great and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. It is such a lovely atmosphere with great scenery. I would recommend it to anyone, carry on the good work John, Cassie and all your fantastic staff.
What a great pub. Their burgers are fantastic, and they have £2 drinks until Midnight. Definitely a younger crowd in the evening, what with being so close to the university and being situated at the top of West Street, but during the day I find it very pleasant.
