Had my belated birthday dinner with my family tonight, and was very impressed with the first class service by the staff, and the food was cooked to a high standard. Overall have to give them a 10 out of 10, especially for Leanne, who was very polite throughout the meal.
This rubbish about this pub smelling is false. It smells like a typical pub, beer and aftershave. The dog that only occasionally comes out is lovely. The landlord is the chef and I have never seen him drink. The food is lovely, and there's always a full plate, and at two for £5 it's a bargain. The lady serving is great also.
We come a few times a week. Come see for yourself and make your own opinion.
The pub has recently changed hands, and as locals we are very happy with the new landlord and staff. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch there in a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We usually go in for early bar, but could be tempted to attend the entertainment evenings. We wish them every success in their new venture.
Poorly run pub to say the least. A middle-aged skinny man at the end of bar was so drunk he was disturbing customers but the two barmaids just laughed along with him. Selection of ales has worsened and the interior resembles something from the 1980s, very outdated.
Game soup for starter, roast pork and turkey, roast potatoes, mash, carrots, sprouts, apple and cranberry sauce followed by choice of Christmas pudding, trifle or apple crumble then a cheese board selection with crackers. And all finished off with a warm mince pie and cup of coffee, all for under £12... very full now.
