Party-goers can hit the town and sip on a choice of drinks, dancing the night away at a bar situated in a 19th-century building
A friendly pub offering a good selection of real ale from their own "Little Ale Cart Company" range of beers and a selection of other micro brewery ales.
The staff and regulars are friendly and you can very quickly find yourself in a conversation if you're on your own!
The courtyard beer garden is sheltered from the weather with plenty of benches and ash trays.
Situated on the Kelham Island circuit and practically next to the Supertram stop at Shalesmoor, it's an ideal pub to start or finish your night. - Dave Etheridge, 4th April 2013
Visited pub yesterday. Very friendly and welcoming, good beer and food. Real ale sold as well. Pool table. Well worth a visit. - Terry Shaw, 15th March 2013
Went on Mother's Day with my family. Was easy to get a table and the food was lovely. The atmosphere was friendly and cosy. Had facilities for babies. Would go there again. - Mavis Ellmer, 12th March 2013
A party of 6 of us arrived for a 1 o'clock booking of afternoon tea, including 2 children. At 1:45PM we asked what we were eating. We were told cucumber sandwiches. We were very disappointed, as this was a Mother's Day treat. We asked if we could choose something off menu instead. We were told yes, but there was a delay on food.
Staff were rude and at no point apologised. It was 3:20PM by the time food arrived, and when it did it was minimal and bland. A very disappointing Mother's Day treat. - Patricia Newell, 9th March 2013
Lovely food, we had a carvery and it was lush. Reasonable prices, too, and free desert with a meal deal. Free face painting for children and a play area outside for kiddies, and beer garden.
Couldn't ask for more! Will be going again! Staff was very helpful and very kind. - Gemma Booth, 3rd March 2013
Very understaffed. Ones that were there were run off their feet.
On concert night (Girls Aloud) where were the staff? 45-minute wait for a table, 20-minute wait for a drink, another 20 minutes waiting to get served (he forgot to order the starter).
We ordered 2 steaks - 1 medium, 1 well done. We got 1 raw-to-medium and 1 medium. Not good enough.
We will never go back. Can't stand pink meat, left it all. - Ian Hartley, 26th February 2013
Absolutely appalling service and arrogant manager. Very rude.
We ordered 3 breakfasts and each one came out with 10 minutes between. And if you would like your sandwich bread buttered then expect to be charged 20p!
When we complained the manager's response was "these things happen" and offered no apology.
In the current climate I feel that the manager needs to be very careful and maybe address his manner. - Claire Goodchild, 23rd February 2013
The staff is awesome and very friendly. They make you feel like family.
Starting to make Thursday night at Double Top a weekly thing.
Their function room is just the right size, I'm having my wedding AND reception there on Halloween 2013.
This place is great! - Reign Von Barren, 22nd February 2013
We rate this pub 10/10 and more, our family love this pub!
We had our wedding venue in the function room on 12.09.2011 after we had our service at town hall. The room hire was free of charge, decorations were lovely, table cloths and flowers were all perfect.
Food was amazing. We had starters, main and desert. Very good price for our 30 guests.
We played our own music. Staff used my iPod. I choose my own playlist of 60s, 70s and 80's music for our guests and other users of the pub.
The children played in the garden in the play area and they all loved it.
Amazing views of Bradfield made lovely wedding pictures, which family and friends took for us.
Staff were brilliant, service was excellent and drinks were brilliant. Had a toast for the speech, teas coffees etc... Was highlight of my wedding. Loved it. Will never forget my day, perfect.
Our wedding budget was low but made our family complete. Our children loved this venue, it's now special in our hearts, we love Bradfield.
Thank you to all the staff who gave us a perfect wedding venue, will call back again and will recommend to everyone. - Abigail Petch, 17th February 2013
Got a flyer through the letterbox for Friday 01/02/2013 inviting people for fish and chips for £0.95 if one has a drink with it.
Tried and it was very disappointing. Waited 45 minutes for the food, first pint of Guinness was watery, second had a 1/2 inch head on it and it was still watery. Can't recommend the place.
This day an age when pubs are shutting down... One plus: young lady with dark long hair behind the bar was very pleasant.
Sorry for being negative about the place but... - Sandor Robert Sallay, 2nd February 2013
