Barnsley Council's planning board has been advised to reject plans to demolish the Rock Inn pub at Green Moor and build new houses on the site. Planning officers believe that the plans would create too much additional traffic in the area and more homes are not needed. However, landlady Jill Clancey is adamant that the pub will still close because the business is losing too much money.

Locals have objected to plans to demolish the Rock Inn pub at Green Moor near Wortley in order to build houses on the site. A bid to flatten the pub and build 12 houses set to be considered by councillors on the planning board next week.
