Norfolk Arms Pub Reviews

I had a 2-night stay at the Norfolk Arms, the food is shocking!
Day 1
Waited 1 hour for food, asked and asked the young fella again and again where my food was, 30 minutes later received wrong dish and sent back. Waited a further 20 minutes for my original dish, burnt vegetables, I left more than I ate!
Day 2
Similar experience to day one.
Breakfast: ordered full English, had to wait 30 minutes. Cold breakfast served - returned to a lass called Becky who replaced it (same dish returned just microwaved warm!)
I would never eat at the Norfolk Arms hotel ever again.
P.S don't stay there either, my hotel room (room 2) was mingingly dirty dust, filthy carpets, bed made wrong.
Avoid the place, save your cash.

Booked lunch for 6 adults and 6 children, aged 3 - 7. After waiting 40 minutes was told they "had had a rush" (we were the first there) and food would be ready in 5 minutes.
Another 15 minutes and we were told the printer had broken and orders had not reached kitchen (other people had been served by this time). Kids chanting "we want food".
Served after an hour: 3 orders were wrong and there was a hair on one plate. Food was overcooked and dreadfully overpriced. We were offered 50% off. By this time we were too fed up to say they should have been paying us for awful service and abysmal food.
Came to this web site because my review on theirs wasn't published. They must rely on passing trade rather than returning customers.

We ate there yesterday and were really disappointed. Ordered 2 home made steak and ale pies, which were overpriced at £9.95 each. Our vegetables were underdone, the pastry on the pie was undercooked and tasted awful. Chunky chips were OK.
Nice location but not bothered about eating there again.

If you're considering going to the Norfolk Arms in Ringinglow for a meal there - don't. We went yesterday and had a terrible experience.
We paid for our food upfront and waited patiently, but seeing that other people who arrived after we did were being served before us, we enquired what was happening. This was to several waitresses and the man who took our order.
After waiting for more than an hour we were approached by a man who we presumed to be the manager.
He confirmed what we'd ordered and said that two tables had been given our order number and they had brought the food out three times, but it had gone to the other table, who already had their food.
On no occasion did he apologise for this and actually very smarmily insinuated that it was our fault - despite no-one coming near our table with what looked like our food.
Then when we finally received our food, it was plonked in front of us with out a word and when we'd finished, taken away without so much as a 'how was your meal?'.
And despite this terrible service, the food itself was very average. At £10 for a Sunday dinner, you'd certainly expect more.
In short, we were treated really badly and will never go again. We'd advise you to do the same!

I have just entertained my 93-year-old father-in-law to lunch at the Norfolk Arms, and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
It is difficult sometimes to find a pub or restaurant happy to accommodate the smaller appetite, as happens when you reach your 90s. The chef and staff were most helpful in supplying a lovely prawn salad for Dad, which visually tempted his tastebuds without overfacing him. He really enjoyed the fat chips and loved the roaring fire on a very windy day.
Polite service and an excellent choice of food for the under 90s, too!
