Awesome Sunday lunches served at two for £8 - unbeatable value.

Have used the Crown & Cushion twice while visiting our family. We make it a must when visiting - it is the best food we have tasted in a long time.
We were there on our anniversary 17th September 2009 and had the best night. I had steak and jacket potato, my husband had the battered fish and chips, which was of the best quality and us Scots love a fish supper! My aunt and cousin had the salmon with hollandaise sauce and that was to die for. The steak pie beat my uncle, as it was big enough to feed Desperate Dan, and again it was of the best quality. We will be back, hopefully in December, as we will need a good feed by then.
Thank you for a great night and friendliness.

A very welcoming pub with friendly staff and very sociable regulars.
Delicious home cooking - the best Sunday lunch in Sheffield.
Homemade proper Yorkshire puddings and fresh vegetables served with a smile.

As a female over 45 the Red House is one pub I can go to and not feel out of place. In today's day and age it is still hard for women to go into a pub on her own. I have met up with an old school friend there. This is the friendliest pub I will ever go to and the staff are so friendly as well. It's like going home before my husband died. Carry on with the good work.

Stayed at the Harley Hotel when U2 were in town and was pleased with the place, we even got parked right outside the door and it only cost a few quid. We went looking for bars in town after the gig but decided to get back to the hotel, and pleased we did, open 'til 2AM, and a decent pint, and a few sambucas. Breakfast was excellent for how cheap the hotel is, and I've stayed in Hiltons etc... where is isn't that good.
All in all a great hotel for a stay in Sheffield, the tram and a bank right outside. Don't be fussy about the rooms, after all they have a bed toilet and shower and that's all you need. We're going back in a few weeks and definitely staying there.

The White Hart used to be a vibrant village pub with regular discos, pop quizzes & good food, all served in a friendly environment. On my last visit - August 2009 Thursday 10PM there was not a soul about. I didn't even order drinks and left. Another pub for the scrapheap me thinks.

This bar has improved a helluva lot since I was last in. They've finally got Sky Sports in, which will make a nice change from having to get to the Cavendish two hours before kick-off just so you can find somewhere to sit! They've got loads more screens than the Cav, too, so you're able to watch the matches anywhere in the pub.
I found out from the bar staff that they have a new manager and this seems to have made a big difference, as the place looks a lot cleaner than it did and the staff seem much friendlier and helpful than before. Just waiting for the cask ale to be introduced now (the staff said it'll be in next week!) and then maybe we'll finally have a good, actual PUB on West Street!

Having been unfortunate to stay in the Old Crown Inn B&B I would advise others not too. The reasons are listed below.
1. The bed was similar to a 'FAKERS BED' (a bed of nails)
2. No breakfast was available! So much for being a Bed & Breakfast!
3. No hot water in the shower!
4. The Crown Inn is on a main road next to a police station, so expect the sound of sirens to waken you during the night!
5. They did offer the use of an iron, however the position of the electrical sockets in the room made it impossible to use!
I did make a complaint to the management, and requested a full refund but as yet I have still to receive a reply or a refund!
Would I stay here again? Not a long as I had breath in my body!
Not a good advert for English Tourism!

Can I put you in the right direction to a cracking local boozer?
The Pheasant is on Trafalgar Road, just off Penistone Road, and has a great relaxed and friendly environment. It is kept clean and tidy and sells the best carvery in Sheffield, with mashed potatoes, sensational Yorkshire puddings and a gravy you would die for.
On top of this you are served by pleasant staff with a smile on their faces. If it's one of those days and you need picking up then visit the Pheasant and I'm sure that with the quality food, drink and service you get, you will come out with a smile on your face like me.
