Mount Pleasant Pub Reviews

Went in the Mount Pleasant on Sunday. Thankfully the miserable landlord was out playing golf, but what a wonderful replacement (barmaid) he had working for him. She must be a clone of him.
A customer complained about a pint of lager being flat so the barmaid told him to go elsewhere, and when the landlord was informed about this he just shrugged his shoulders.
It is no wonder this pub is going down hill, which is a shame because it is one of the few "proper pubs" left about.

What's happened to this little pub it, used to be buzzing? Went in the other day and the place is empty and judging by the prices it is one of the cheapest pubs about. But the place is just so miserable and cold. The landlord he sits on a stool at the bar looking so unhappy it's no wonder nobody is in if that's the greeting you get when you walk in. Besides that the drinks are of a good standard. Hope next time I go in it is a bit warmer and I get service with a smile.

Just tried this pub out for the first time it has got some great bargains on for lager and beer but that's where the good things end. The landlord is very ignorant and seems as if he doesn't want to be there, the pub is so cold and not very clean, which is a shame because it is typical old-style pub, which with a bit of care could be a fantastic place to go for a drink.

After reading about the high recommendation about this pub I decided to give it a whirl.
As for the landlord always smiling, I have never met such a miserable person in my life. As for the place being clean, the place is dirty and cold. The other review says this a small pub with high prices and I must agree - it is very expensive.
The few customers that do go in seem very pleasant but I cannot understand why they keep going in, as the landlord is so ignorant and as soon as he serves you he just wants to sit down and go to sleep. It seems like he does not want customers, so I will oblige him with that by not returning.

This is a very small pub with high beer prices. The rooms are tiny (one about the size of a large bathroom and one about the size of a medium lounge) but that doesn't make a difference, as on the occasions I have gone in it has been empty anyway. It does have a small outside play area for the kids though!

What a nice pub this is. The landlord is the most pleasant man you could wish to meet, he is always smiling and nothing seems too much trouble for him. The place is very clean and tidy, and the beer is always spot on. Go on give it a try.
