Relatively new owners have cracked the brewing code and the recently produced ales are back to the standards remembered from Del's days in the pub. If you stopped going to the pub when the previous owners had it, do try it again.

The only pub in the area where I would be happy to take my wife. No yobs, good music (not pop), good simple grub, and above all, good beer! You can even taste the beer before you decide. I am happy to nominate the Hillsborough Hotel for the Pub of the Month.

The Hillsborough Hotel was the proud winner of two awards last week at Sheffield's 33rd Steel City Beer & Cider Festival. The pub, which has its own Crown Brewery on the premises, won 1st prize for its traditional bitter (4% ABV) and 3rd prize for its Stannington Stout (5% ABV).

The Hillsborough Hotel has been named as Sheffield CAMRA Pub Of The Year 2002! The pub, formerly known as the Wellington Inn, was taken over by Mr Del Tilling 3 years ago. Since then he has installed his own micro-brewery and turned it into a real ale pub.
