Spent a very happy evening at the Hillsborough. Very pleasant and welcoming pub, with a wonderful range of real ales. Will certainly visit again.

Very good Sunday roast lunch for two of us. Beef & pork lunches good. Reasonable prices. Excellent choices of real ales for such a pub. Very friendly, excellent service. Entertainments look quite a good selection. Thoroughly recommendable.

Went to the Hillsborough Hotel last weekend and loved it. I didn't even know it was there. It's a real ale pub on Langsett Road - with great food.
Later that evening I found out there was a brewery downstairs and spent the rest of the night drinking 'Hillsborough Pale Ale' made by The Crown Brewery.
I have already asked if some friends want to come down and stay there.
Will definitely be making it a regular!

I visited the Hillsborough Hotel with 4 friends in October 2007 for the fist time and was really impressed with the friendly staff, superb selection, and quality ales. In fact I was so impressed that I am going back to stay for a weekend this October and can't wait.

Relatively new owners have cracked the brewing code and the recently produced ales are back to the standards remembered from Del's days in the pub. If you stopped going to the pub when the previous owners had it, do try it again.

The only pub in the area where I would be happy to take my wife. No yobs, good music (not pop), good simple grub, and above all, good beer! You can even taste the beer before you decide. I am happy to nominate the Hillsborough Hotel for the Pub of the Month.

Hillsborough Hotel Pub News
New Start at Hillsborough Hotel:
Ten years ago Tom Delaney then-manager of the Hillsborough Hotel, and staff member Brigitte Colwell (now Delaney) worked for the Walker family.
Brigitte and Tom are now at the helm of this new venture and would like to invite customers old and new to pop in and join them for some great craft real ales and some good home-cooked food.
The Hillsborough Hotel was the proud winner of two awards last week at Sheffield's 33rd Steel City Beer & Cider Festival. The pub, which has its own Crown Brewery on the premises, won 1st prize for its traditional bitter (4% ABV) and 3rd prize for its Stannington Stout (5% ABV).
The Hillsborough Hotel has been named as Sheffield CAMRA Pub Of The Year 2002! The pub, formerly known as the Wellington Inn, was taken over by Mr Del Tilling 3 years ago. Since then he has installed his own micro-brewery and turned it into a real ale pub.
