This place has recently undergone a complete refurnishing and redecorating, which has cleaned it up pretty well. But, more importantly... they sell hand-pulled Old Speckled Hen at five-star rating!

After having a party there I thought that I ought to let you know how disgusted I was with the buffet. The sandwiches were floppy and there was hardly any meat on them, and the onion bhajis were freezing cold. Where do you know that puts ham, cheese and tuna all on the same platter? I don't even think there were enough chicken drumsticks to go around.

In a word: diabolical. I paid for £6 per head buffet, but looking at it, if it cost £3 per head that would be stretching it.

My advice, don't go.
