Worst ever festive meal in December with plastic sliced beef, cold turkey, poor service from rude waitress. Could go on. Didn't even have the decency to acknowledge our complaints. One word: AVOID. Not worth it.

Food here was the worst I ever had anywhere: sausages so overcooked the skin was so hard we couldn't cut them, chicken goujons were dripping fat, you could actually see it squelch out of them When cutting. Chicken burger was tasteless and again dripping in fat.
On complaining the manager never made an appearance even thought he was stood at the bar, he left to his staff who were not in any way trained to deal with a complaint.
Needless to say we will never return and tell others just how awful our experience was. Oh just to say there was us and two other people in the pub, now I know why.

After visiting this afternoon I will never return.
Waited over an hour for our food. Spoke to a lady about the delay then a man who said he was director of the pub had overheard our conversation and started shouting at me saying it had not been an hour. He said he would cancel the food. Not a pleasant experience.
I returned to the table, yet he carried on shouting. I asked him to stop and leave it there. This was all in front of my mother in law.
I've never had such an awful experience. Very rude!

The Red Lion provided us with a fabulous buffet with superb service for my father's funeral. Great value for money. Would certainly recommend.

My husband and I came to the Red Lion today 03/02/2019 and both ordered beef Sunday dinner. The beef had not been cooked at all and had only been seared. We called the waitress and my husband requested a change, as he cannot eat raw meat and ordered chicken instead. When the meal came it was gammon but my husband ate it. I can eat rare meat but the total rawness had me beaten and was left on my plate.
When clearing up the waitress asked if everything was OK and we told her about the wrong meat, she blamed the kitchen, even though it was her that had taken the order.
We were not even offered a cup of coffee as an apology. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Red Lion.

Visited this evening. Really friendly staff, great home cooked food. Salmon was fantastic. Will definitely be going again.
