This pub has got a bad landlady. Not bothered about drugs being sold. Lots of used-to-be-regulars not going in any longer.

Went for a meal last week. In the entrance you have to pass a gauntlet of smokers in the doorway to get inside of the pub.

Once in, a few were drinking and eating. We found a table and ordered our food.

While waiting children started chasing about. Parents were not bothered. I found that this was like a creche not a pub.

Food came and was warm, not hot. Could not find anyone to ask for it to be warmed up, so ate the food. Children were still running around. Took 15 minutes to clear away the dirty dishes. Instead of having another drink we just walked out.

Not an experience that I will be doing in the near future. Back to The Sherwood.

If it's a quiet drink and meal this is not for you.

This pub is owned by the Sizzling Pubs chain. I dined there recently and was impressed by their quality and range of meals. When it first opened they only generally offered one real ale, if at all, but on my recent visit three real ales were on offer.

A welcome addition for south-east Sheffield, where most other pubs are keg only or at best do no more than pay lip service to real ale.
