Not the best bar in Sheffield but definitely not the worst!

It's small but busy and the music is mainly chart stuff. It's not a cocktail bar so if you want that go to Division Street. But it is a bar where you are served quickly and politely.

I would definitely recommend Lava to people who are out in groups.

Went here last Saturday (11th June) and was actually surprised by what we found. Though the bar isn't the biggest bar in Sheffield it is the only bar so far that we have found that simply plays chart and party music.

On a night out all we want to do is get a couple of reasonably priced drinks and shots then dance to music that we know... that's what you get at Lava Lounge!

We stayed for about an hour before moving on to Crystal to finish our night off.

If you want a bar that is fun, reasonably cheap, busy and where the staff don't look at you like dirt then I would highly recommend giving Lava Lounge a try.

A great bar with good music and reasonable drinks prices!

Went here last Saturday as we always visit Lava Lounge when we go out. It's not the most modern bar on West Street but it doesn't take itself too seriously and you are guaranteed a good time when you arrive.

It's open really late (3AM I think) and they don't charge to get in, which is always what we look for on a night out.

Would definitely recommend this bar if you want to dance the night away to chart music and older tunes you've not heard in a long time!

Despite objections from their colleagues, Sheffield City Council's licensing board has granted Lava Lounge bar on West Street in Sheffield city centre permission to open until 3:30AM seven nights per week. The bar was previously licensed until 2AM, as council officials were concerned about noise affecting nearby residential buildings.

Lava Lounge on West Street in the city centre has applied to Sheffield City Council for permission to stay open until 3:30AM every day. The bar is currently allowed to open until 2AM.

Council officials from the environmental health department and the local planning authority have objected to the application on the grounds that residents in close proximity will potentially be affected by excessive noise and existing and future detriment to public amenity
