Great heated garden at the rear, wood-panelled lounge, 'taproom' allowing dogs on lead, and a great room upstairs with big HD screen and two pool tables.

Had four pints whilst there, Tetley (2) £2.15, Black Sheep £2.30 & Pedigree £2.40. All very good quality. Food was only served at lunchtimes, so I had a cold sandwich from behind the bar (cheap as chips).

The place was full of locals downstairs & younger folk in the poolroom, there was also a fair number in the garden. Great pub, will return.

This suburban pub serves a healthy mixture of locals and passing visitors, old and young, the intelligentsia and the intellectually challenged. It's what a public house should be - open to all. The ales, lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks are all fairly priced and well-kept in comparison with other establishments. The lunch menu is tasty and reasonably priced. There are popular quiz nights on Sundays and Tuesdays and the Banner's own football team is legendary. The landlord team - Janet and Roger - run a tight ship with a supportive staff - including head barman the dashing Les. This is what you call a proper pub and long may it prosper.
