- Launch event at the Ranmoor Inn in Sheffield and also at Briggantes in York on the evening of Tuesday 19th February
- Supporting our local breweries (beer brewed locally, by local people, for local tastes) and the local pubs & bars that stock their beer.
- Promoting the environmental benefits of products that haven't been distributed long distances.
- Pubs regularly stocking beer from breweries within 20 miles of their front door can be accredited as a LocAle pub.
- Scheme already successfully operating in Nottingham and partly responsible for an increase in sales of locally brewed real ale in the area.
The George IV reopened in December 2007 and now serves a range of real ales as well as the usual beers and lagers. A function room with private bar is also available for hire. The pub has a late license until 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
We have added partial details for the newly-opened Walnut Club Champagne Bar & Grill on Ecclesall Road.
We have added a full listing for the Coach & Horses pub in Dronfield.
Despite objections from local residents and South Yorkshire Police, the Old Blue Ball pub in Hillsborough has been allowed to open later at weekends, although it has been denied permission to extend its alcohol license during the week.
The pub can now serve alcohol until 1AM on Friday and Saturday nights but drinks cannot be served after 11PM on Sundays and weeknights.
We have removed the Pump Tavern in Sheffield city centre from our database, as it has closed down. Along with a number of other buildings it is due to be demolished to make way for the redevelopment of the Moor.
We have removed the following pubs from our database, as they are now all closed:
- Turnbull Hotel
- Deerstalker Inn
- Newfield Inn
- Meadow Street Hotel
- Boho bar restaurant
We have updated the details for Max's West End Bar / Continental Restaurant. The venue has now been revamped and reopened as Jocosa bar.
We have updated the name of the pub previously listed as Brewers Fayre at Owler Bar. The pub is now correctly listed as Moorlands.
