I'm looking for a pub with a nice function room for a small private party (maybe about 30 people?) I don't want to be in a massive room that's made for 100+ people, but just somewhere where a smallish group of friends can relax and have a drink or two (or three..) Any suggestions appreciated!

not really, as long as you can get to it by public transport easily.

How about the Office in Upperthorpe? It's near both bus and tram stops.
